KRG sports conference in Wales: Call for participants |

The Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Sports and Youth will hold a conference in Cardiff, Wales on 9th and 10th December 2008. The title of the conference is 'Regional sport, international participation – the role of regions in building a legacy of sporting participation and excellence'. |

The program for empowering youth leaders in Kurdistan is a cooperative project implemented by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, People`s Development Association, KOMAK, People Aid Organization and Kurdistan Empowering Youth Organization. Though the program is based in the town of Shaqlawa, the participants do not hesitate to leave their homes and travel from the various places in Kurdistan to join a week long program. In its entirety, the project is a ten week long program, but the content of each week is different from the previous. |

Friday October 10th was quite an eventful day for us who joined the Ministry of sports and youth. My colleague and I were invited by the Ministry of Sports and Youth to Kirkuk. The Ministry of sports and youth has in spite of all safety hazards initiated several projects for the youth of Kirkuk. One very important step towards a more active youth is the culture house where young people can visit if they want to catch up on their reading, use computers, build miniature models or partake in the daily independent radio program. |
